Everyone Loves a Bargain

Kinky/Curly Cutie (and fellow Emory Alumnae) JT wants to know how I achieve my puff when I'm wearing a twist-out. Kerry Washington knows my secret- it's Goody's Ouchless headbands, and she's wearing one in this pic. Here's my tip: place the headband around your head, pull forward, away from your head, and cross, double around your head once more and slide back into desired position. My hair is thick and as dense as a pine forest, so I have no trouble keeping

the band in place. If you're worried about slippage, anchor the band in back with bobby pins, crossed like an X.

Goody Ouchless Headbands, $4, drugstores, Walmart, Target.

I've also seen these at the dollar store and at Walgreens for a buck! Happy Shopping :)

I didn't know you were an Emory alum. What class were you? I'm class of 05?

I love goody ouchless headbands. They're the only ones I'll use for a puff. In fact, I'm wearing one right now! Once you stretch it out a little, it's so comfortable that I can forget I'm wearing it.

Just bought these today! Thanks! But then I discovered that my hair is too long for the puff lol. But I'm trying the twist pin-up tonight. I'm trying to get creative. lol Thanks again!

@ JT- how is your hair too long for a puff?

My hair doesn't stand up in any type of fro anymore. It used to, but as it grew the curls loosened up. So my hair falls down around the headband and looks crazy. Of course, I could also be doing the puff all wrong lol. When I push it all up with the band, it still nearly reaches my chin. It just didn't look right to me.

I posted a pic on facebook today of the twist out I did instead. I wore the twists pinned up for a few days first like you suggested. Loved that!

nylon stockings work well for the puff too!
